Satellite / in-situ snow-cover & snow-water-equivalent QA system.

ARKSATQA is a quality-assurance system for satellite-derived snow products. It continuously ingests satellite snow cover extent (SCE) and snow water equivalent (SWE) products alongside independent in-situ observations, harmonizes them onto a common classification scale, and makes both readily available for comparison.

This portal lets users browse the catalog of ingested products, inspect station and region-of-interest coverage on a map, plot satellite and in-situ time series side by side, and compute agreement metrics - contingency-matrix statistics for categorical snow cover comparisons and continuous-value statistics (RMSE, bias, correlation, NSE, KGE) for snow water equivalent - across single stations or large batches of stations.

The system is developed to support ongoing calibration/validation activities for Copernicus and EUMETSAT H SAF snow products, in collaboration with the partners below.
